Hustlefella Intelligence Engine & Fair Ranking Policy

Hustlefella is committed to creating a fair, transparent, and trustworthy marketplace where customers can confidently find skilled service providers and providers have an equal opportunity to grow their businesses.

To support this goal, Hustlefella uses its proprietary Hustlefella Intelligence Engine (“the Intelligence Engine”), an automated platform system that assists with provider rankings, search results, lead distribution, badge awards, and marketplace quality.

This policy explains how the Intelligence Engine operates and how it may affect the visibility of providers on the Hustlefella platform.

By using Hustlefella, you acknowledge and accept the operation of the Intelligence Engine as described in this policy.

2. Purpose

The Intelligence Engine is designed to:

  • Improve the quality of search results.

  • Promote active and reliable providers.

  • Encourage complete and accurate business profiles.

  • Reward consistent engagement on the platform.

  • Distribute customer opportunities fairly.

  • Maintain a high-quality marketplace.

  • Prevent manipulation, spam, and fraudulent activity.

The system exists to improve the overall experience for both customers and providers.

3. What is the HustleScore?

Each provider is assigned an internal HustleScore.

The HustleScore is a proprietary platform metric used only within Hustlefella.

It is not:

  • a professional qualification,

  • a certification,

  • a government accreditation,

  • a guarantee of workmanship,

  • a guarantee of customer satisfaction,

  • a legal measure of competence.

The HustleScore simply reflects how the platform evaluates a provider’s profile and participation.

4. How Scores Are Calculated

The Intelligence Engine evaluates a variety of platform-related factors, which may include:

  • Profile completeness

  • Verification status

  • Business information

  • Service categories

  • Areas served

  • Recent platform activity

  • Marketplace participation

  • Provider responsiveness

  • Reliability indicators

  • Customer engagement

  • Quality of profile information

  • Other platform quality signals

The exact weighting of these factors is proprietary and confidential.

Hustlefella does not publish the full scoring formula to help protect the integrity of the platform.

5. Search Rankings

When customers search for providers, results may be ordered using information generated by the Intelligence Engine.

Search rankings are intended to present relevant providers while encouraging fairness across the marketplace.

Search results may change over time based on:

  • provider activity,

  • profile updates,

  • marketplace conditions,

  • customer behaviour,

  • platform improvements,

Search rankings are dynamic and should not be interpreted as permanent.

6. Fair Ranking Principles

Hustlefella is committed to maintaining a fair marketplace.

The Intelligence Engine is designed to:

  • avoid favouring inactive providers,

  • discourage spam,

  • encourage complete profiles,

  • reward genuine participation,

  • improve customer choice.

No provider is guaranteed a permanent position in search results.

7. Membership Plans

Paid memberships may include additional platform features and benefits.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, paid membership does not purchase a higher HustleScore.

Membership status may only be considered where appropriate within clearly defined platform rules, such as resolving ties between otherwise equally ranked providers or enabling premium features that are disclosed to users.

Hustlefella does not sell search rankings.

8. Lead Distribution

Where Hustlefella distributes customer enquiries or leads, the Intelligence Engine may consider factors including:

  • provider suitability,

  • availability,

  • location,

  • category,

  • service area,

  • current marketplace balance,

  • HustleScore,

  • platform quality signals.

Lead distribution is intended to provide fair opportunities while improving customer outcomes.

Receiving leads is not guaranteed.

9. Badges and Recognition

The Intelligence Engine may automatically award badges or achievements to providers who meet certain platform criteria.

Badges recognise positive participation but do not constitute:

  • certification,

  • licensing,

  • professional endorsement,

  • legal accreditation,

  • guaranteed service quality.

Badge criteria may change over time.

10. Automated Decision-Making

Certain platform functions are performed automatically.

These may include:

  • provider rankings,

  • badge awards,

  • search ordering,

  • recommendations,

  • lead allocation,

  • quality assessments.

Human oversight may be applied where appropriate.

11. Platform Analytics

To improve the platform, Hustlefella collects operational and analytical information.

Analytics may include:

  • search trends,

  • platform usage,

  • feature performance,

  • system performance,

  • anonymous statistical information.

Where possible, analytics are aggregated and anonymised.

Analytics are used to improve the marketplace rather than to identify individual users unnecessarily.

12. Data Privacy

The Intelligence Engine operates alongside Hustlefella’s Privacy Policy.

Information processed by the Intelligence Engine is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), where applicable.

Hustlefella takes reasonable measures to protect user information from unauthorised access or misuse.

13. No External AI Processing

The Hustlefella Intelligence Engine primarily performs automated processing using systems developed for the Hustlefella platform.

Unless otherwise disclosed, provider ranking decisions are not dependent on external artificial intelligence services.

14. Preventing Abuse

To maintain a trustworthy marketplace, Hustlefella monitors for activity that may include:

  • fake profiles,

  • misleading information,

  • manipulation of rankings,

  • spam,

  • fraudulent behaviour,

  • abuse of platform features.

Attempts to manipulate the Intelligence Engine may result in:

  • score adjustments,

  • reduced visibility,

  • suspension,

  • removal of badges,

  • account restrictions,

  • permanent account termination.

15. Provider Responsibilities

Providers are responsible for ensuring that:

  • profile information is accurate,

  • qualifications are truthful,

  • business details remain current,

  • services are honestly represented,

  • all platform rules are followed.

Providing false or misleading information may negatively affect platform visibility.

16. No Guarantee of Work

The Intelligence Engine assists with marketplace organisation only.

Hustlefella does not guarantee:

  • enquiries,

  • leads,

  • customers,

  • bookings,

  • income,

  • business growth,

  • search ranking,

  • provider visibility.

Business success remains dependent on many factors beyond the control of Hustlefella.

17. Customer Responsibility

Customers remain responsible for choosing providers that best meet their needs.

Customers should independently assess:

  • qualifications,

  • pricing,

  • suitability,

  • availability,

  • references,

  • experience.

Search rankings should not be interpreted as guarantees of quality or suitability.

18. Changes to the Intelligence Engine

Hustlefella continually improves its systems.

Accordingly, Hustlefella may:

  • change scoring methods,

  • modify ranking algorithms,

  • introduce new quality indicators,

  • retire existing factors,

  • adjust weighting,

  • improve platform fairness,

  • update automated processes.

Such changes may occur without prior notice.

19. Suspension and Removal

Hustlefella reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or remove providers who:

  • violate platform policies,

  • manipulate rankings,

  • abuse customers,

  • submit false information,

  • engage in fraudulent conduct,

  • threaten platform integrity.

These actions may occur without restoring previous rankings or scores.

20. Limitation of Liability

While Hustlefella aims to operate a fair and reliable marketplace, no automated system is perfect.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hustlefella shall not be liable for:

  • changes in search ranking,

  • loss of visibility,

  • reduced enquiries,

  • loss of income,

  • badge removal,

  • algorithm updates,

  • marketplace fluctuations,

  • automated scoring decisions.

The Intelligence Engine is provided as part of the overall marketplace experience and may evolve over time.

21. Intellectual Property

The Hustlefella Intelligence Engine, including its algorithms, scoring methods, ranking logic, software, workflows, and proprietary processes, remains the exclusive intellectual property of Hustlefella.

Users may not attempt to copy, reverse engineer, reproduce, or exploit any part of the Intelligence Engine without prior written permission.

22. Policy Updates

Hustlefella may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or platform functionality.

The latest version will always be published on the Hustlefella website.

Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
